bing explores different facets of design. 

General Background and Education

Born in Xi'an,  the capital city of ancient China for thirteen dynasties, she was raised up in Canton, the modern metropolis in Southern China and moved to San Francisco in 2010 to further education, after gaining her Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Design with National Scholarship. With two years' critical training at San Francisco Art Institute, she obtained her Master of Fine Arts in Design and Technology with Honor Teaching Assistantships. 

As a Designer

She has a keen eye for details and is a quick learner. She lives her life with passion and curiosity.  She places communication at the first place in teamwork, and did this project and practice with collaborative design. 

Beyond Design(Interdisciplinary Experiences) 

Not just delivering messages with the visual, bing also served as the executive editor of a leading bilingual design magazine in Asia(Design 360-Concept and Design Magazine), responsible for the themes of issues and features from concept to implement. Despite being fully in charge of design research, she was also the one to stay connected and communicate with the featured or collaborative designers and associations. She treasured the opportunities of knowing more about the great creative minds(Kinfolk, Thonik, Design Academy Eindhoven, Taiwan Design Center and etc.), and extended the dimension of her understanding of design. 

Objective

Visualizing herself a creative mind breaking boundaries in the future, she keeps learning, taking courses in the field of marketing communications and management at Foothill College as well as on Coursera. She reads from Victor Papanek to Kenya Hara before starting her days. 

Languages: Cantonese/English/Mandarin

Immersed in a multicultural and multilingual environment, she was the bilingual narrator (Cantonese/English) of the special art program for Golden Gate Bridge's 75th Anniversary San Francisco 2012, and the English narrator for Asian Games Guangzhou 2010. 

Last but Not Least 

bing has a passion for food, especially desserts, and she enjoys baking and shares what she has made with friends. Plus she is a hardcore fan for Agatha Christie.
